McLaren has proclaimed the arrival of their all-new hybrid supercar. It will be called Artura and power will come from a brand new twin-turbo V6 petrol engine with two electric motors. For those eco-warriors out there, it can run solely on electric power too, but only for urban use. The Artura will also have an all-new platform designed with electrification in mind.
The British marque has made use of super-lightweight engineering principles from their motorsport experience to make the Artura as light as possible. In fact, the chassis, body and powertrain will have weight-saving technologies. At the heart of this philosophy is McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA), ensuring ‘class-leading weight advantage’. Summary – it will be light.
As mentioned before, McLaren’s all-new Artura will arrive in the first half of 2021 and will be the company’s first High-Performance Hybrid series-production supercar. It builds on the pedigree of the P1TM hybrid and the Speedtail Hyper-GT. Will we ever get one in India? Your guess is as good as mine, I suppose.
