The Maserati Ghibli recently got a hybrid powertrain, but that doesn’t mean Maserati is going soft. Now, both the Ghibli and Quattroporte join the Levante in Maserati’s Trofeo collection.
Just like the Levante Trofeo, these two sedans get a 3.8-litre, twin-turbo V8 sourced from Maranello. It produces 572 bhp and 74.43 kg-m of peak torque, equaling the numbers seen on the Levante Trofeo, and will be paired to an 8-speed ZF auto ’box. The Ghibli Trofeo’s lightweight body helps it cover 0-100 kph in just 4.3 seconds, making it 0.2 seconds quicker than the Quattroporte Trofeo. And a top speed of 326 kph makes the pair of them Maserati’s fastest sedans till date. Of course, these sedans are rear-wheel driven and come with a limited-slip differential standard.
Apart from the mighty V8 engine, they both also feature exterior tweaks to set them apart from other variants. Red accents, a restyled grille and carbon-fibre elements, for starters. It’s also hard to miss the dual air ducts on the Ghibli Trofeo, which improve engine cooling. The pair also get 21-inch wheels as standard compared to the 22-inch wheels on the Levante Trofeo.
Inside, you now have a new infotainment system with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen and special upholstery specific to the Trofeo variants.
These two Trofeo sedans will most likely be the last Maserati models to be powered by Ferrari engines before the engine supply deal expires. We hope the upcoming Nettuno engine finds its way under the hoods of the Quattroporte and Ghibli as well!
