Before all the boo-hoos start coming, let us step in and inform you that this isn’t even Ferrari’s original bodywork. The Italian car maker is obviously being rather strategic about testing its upcoming electric car that’s due in 2025, and do remember it hasn’t disclosed what body shape the electric Ferrari will take.
That last bit was key, because while the Purosangue does exist, it is not necessary that an electric version of the same will follow, at least not immediately. According to reports, the bodywork appears to be a modified version of what we’ve seen on the Maserati Levante, and if you move towards the rear, Ferrari took a leaf out of Porsche’s book and installed a couple of fake exhaust-pipes. That’s a clear nod to the electric 718s that are also due sometime in 2025.
Ferrari recently inaugurated a new e-building where it will not only produce ICE and hybrids, but also the upcoming electric car. Using a different body shape is obviously Ferrari’s own way of keeping things guarded. As for what Ferrari’s first EV is really going to look like, that could be anyone’s guess for now; a two-door GT perhaps? Or maybe a four-door coupe? Who knows? However, we can certainly expect more and more information to trickle as the months pass by.
