Kia has finally offered us a glimpse of its first crack at the lifestyle pickup truck segment, and before you raise your hopes, the Tasman seems unlikely on Kia’s India radar for now. The Korean car maker has developed a unique camouflage in collaboration with Richard Boyd-Dunlop, an artist hailing from Australia and New Zealand.
The unique camouflage has been themed ‘The Path Never Taken’, and draws inspiration from the Australian outback. The graphics visualize a journey of inspiration encountered while driving along the coast and across the outback. The design of the wrap further draws on Boyd-Dunlop’s adventures, hitching rides in the back of pickup trucks across Australia.
The Kia Tasman is set to make its global debut in 2025, set to take on rivals such as the Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok, Hyundai Santa Cruz, and the Toyota Tacoma among others. Kia has confirmed the Tasman will be offered globally in a phased manner, with Korea, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East being key markets. However, if Kia ever decides to surprise us, the Tasman will compete against the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, which by the way, is also due for a generational change soon.
