Honda has pulled the wraps off its all-new Honda 0 α (Alpha) at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, marking the global debut of what will become the brand’s first all-electric SUV for India. The 0 α will be the first model under Honda’s new 0 Series EV lineup to be locally manufactured in India, with a market introduction planned for early 2027.
Positioned as the entry point to Honda’s upcoming 0 Series, the 0 α aims to combine futuristic design, practicality, and Honda’s long-standing reputation for reliability. The new 0 Series lineup, previewed earlier this year through the 0 Saloon and 0 SUV concepts, is based on a dedicated EV platform developed around the design philosophy of “Thin, Light, and Wise.” This approach focuses on efficiency, intelligent packaging, and a reduced environmental footprint.
Visually, the Honda 0 α embodies a clean, modern aesthetic with a low and wide stance that enhances aerodynamic efficiency. The front fascia sports a minimalist grille design with a fully integrated lighting setup, including an illuminated Honda emblem, sleek headlamps, and connected DRLs. The rear design continues the futuristic theme, with a U-shaped LED tail-light signature adding to its distinct identity. Dimensionally, the prototype features a wheelbase around 2,750mm— roughly 100mm longer than the Honda Elevate — while also offering a wider track for improved stability.

Inside, the 0 α follows Honda’s minimalist design principles with a spacious, tech-focused interior. Expect a flat floor layout, digital displays, and a high degree of connected and safety features. Although detailed specifications are yet to be revealed, Honda is expected to offer the 0 α with front-wheel drive, ensuring a balance between performance and efficiency.
For India, the 0 α will mark the start of Honda’s serious push into electric mobility. It replaces the previously planned Elevate EV project and will be manufactured locally to keep pricing competitive. Once launched, the Honda 0 α will compete with the likes of the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE.6, Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti Suzuki eVitara.
Globally, Honda’s 0 Series will expand with the larger Honda 0 SUV, which is set to reach India as a CBU import, followed by the flagship Honda 0 Saloon, which will remain exclusive to international markets.
With the 0 α, Honda aims to usher in a new era of smart, sustainable mobility — one that redefines what an electric SUV can be for Indian roads.
