Hot Wheels is taking fans on a nostalgic trip through time with its brand-new ‘Back to the Future’ 40th Anniversary Set, celebrating four decades since the iconic sci-fi film’s release on 3 July 1985. The limited-edition collection features two legendary vehicles from the movie—the DeLorean DMC-12 time machine and, for the very first time, Doc Brown’s GMC Step Van—both meticulously crafted in 1:64 scale.

The highlight of the set is, of course, the DeLorean time machine, complete with its signature rear-mounted vents and the plutonium-fueled nuclear reactor (before its upgrade to the banana-peel-powered “Mr. Fusion”). Every detail, from the gull-wing doors to the flux capacitor, has been faithfully recreated, making this a must-have for die-hard fans.

But the real surprise is the inclusion of Doc Brown’s GMC “Value Van”—a rebadged Chevrolet Step-Van that played a crucial role in the movie yet rarely gets the spotlight in BTTF merchandise. This rugged van served as Doc’s mobile lab and was instrumental in the film’s climax, making its debut in Hot Wheels form long overdue.

Priced at ₹2,750, the Hot Wheels Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Set will hit shelves on 24 July and be available in 20 countries across North America, Asia, and Europe. Given the enduring popularity of the franchise, collectors are expected to snap these up quickly.

While the DeLorean has been immortalized in countless toys and replicas, Doc’s van has been largely overlooked—until now. This set not only pays tribute to one of cinema’s most beloved time-travel sagas but also gives a long-deserved nod to an underrated movie hero.

Whether you’re a Back to the Future superfan, a Hot Wheels collector, or just someone who appreciates a slice of ’80s nostalgia, this set is a fantastic way to celebrate 40 years of time-traveling adventures.

Will you be adding this to your collection? Great Scott!
