Hyundai has introduced a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine for the Alcazar. The SUV is available in four variants with pricing beginning at Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in six- and seven-seat versions and comes with a few updates for 2023.
For instance, it gets a revised front grille and puddle lamp logo, an idle start/stop system and side curtain airbags. As for the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, it is now RDE-compliant and is E20-fuel-ready. On the performance front, it produces 158 bhp at 5500 rpm and 25.8 kgm of torque between 1500-3500 rpm, which can be paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Don’t worry, diesel fans: the Alcazar is still available in an RDE-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine. This engine develops 114 bhp at 4000 rpm and 25.5 kgm between 1500-2750 rpm. Unfortunately, the 2.0-litre petrol engine gets the axe here. By the way, we do have a comparison story for you between the Alcazar and the Tata Safari; you can read about it here.
