For those who aren’t yet ready to switch to EVs, CNG is still around to save your day. The Exter CNG now comes in a new Hy-CNG Duo guise, and it is the first Hyundai model to receive dual-cylinder CNG tech. Visually, the Hyundai Exter remains the exact same, and it also packs the same 1.2-litre powertrain under the hood. However, in this configuration, the output drops down to 68 bhp and 9.7 kgm of torque, while paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The CNG tank’s capacity is 60 litres, and Hyundai claims a fuel efficiency figure of 27.1 km/kg. Considering our fuel prices, this does sound nice.
In terms of equipment, while the Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo gets the usual 8-inch touch screen with smartphone connectivity, climate control, rear A/C vents, sunroof, six airbags, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, hill-hold and ISOFIX mounts among other things.
