The first modern Jeep to be made in India, the Jeep Compass is inching closer to its launch. While we’ve had a taster during the media drive earlier this month, the vehicle will now be at display at all Jeep and Fiat’s dealerships across the country. The industry buzz suggests that it will be competitively priced, but while the prices aren’t out, you can still book one against a deposit of Rs 50,000. The bookings will be open tomorrow (that is on June 20, 2017) at the company’s website as well as the authorised dealerships.
FCA claims that the vehicle is made with identical standards for build and quality as the export model. To be made available in both petrol (1.4-litre MultiAir; 160 bhp and 25.51 kgm) and diesel (2-litre Multijet; 170 bhp and 35.7 kgm) versions, the Compass can also be specified with an AWD system. The diesel engine will be offered with a six-speed manual gearbox (for now) but the petrol gets an optional seven-speed dual-clutch unit, too.
It also gets an electronic parking brake; FSD-equipped suspension; more than 50 safety features including ESC, ABS, Hill Start, etc. standard across the range; and up to six airbags on the top-spec version.
There will more than 50 different combinations for the Compass’s buyer to choose from, depending on the engine, gearbox, FWD/AWD, and trim levels (three of those: Sport, Longitude, and Limited). Colour choices for the vehicle include Minimal Grey, Exotica Red, Hydro Blue, Vocal White, and Hip-Hop Black.

Those interested can book our Made in India Jeep SUV online or at any of our FCA and Jeep Dealer network across India.”
