The Kia Seltos gets a rad cosmetic update in the form of its latest X Line variant. Starting at Rs 17.79 lakh for the petrol and Rs 18.10 lakh for the diesel (all prices ex-showroom, India), the Seltos X Line features a bespoke ‘Xclusive Matte Graphite’ exterior paint and now gets 18-inch alloys as well. Not to forget, it’s for the first time that any car manufacturer is offering matte paint finish in this price range or segment.
Apart from the matte grey finish, the Seltos X Line has plenty of elements finished in gloss black as well. For instance, the front and rear skid plates, ORVMs, shark-fin antenna, and rear bumper among others have an ‘Xclusive Piano Black’ finish on them. To complement the gloss black finish, there’s a hint of ‘Sun Orange’ accents on its exteriors as well. Of course, it would be incomplete without the X Line badging on its tailgate.
Inside, it isn’t all that different apart from the seats wrapped in new honeycomb pattern Indigo Pera leatherette. Everything else remains unchanged as you would see on its top-spec GT Line variant. The usual features like the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Since this is just a cosmetic update and not a mechanical one, the powertrain options remain unchanged. The X Line is offered with 138-bhp 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 113-bhp 1.5-litre diesel. Specific to this variant, these powertrains only get the option of an auto gearbox. The petrol gets the 7-speed dual-clutch auto and the diesel mill is paired with a 6-speed torque converter.
If you fancy the X Line then you will have to pay a premium of Rs 15,000 (petrol) and Rs 25,000 (diesel) over their respective GTX+ trims. Also, this isn’t a limited edition variant.
