Kia India has officially teased the upcoming Sorento ahead of its highly anticipated launch in the country, while also opening pre-bookings for a token amount of Rs. 25,000. The Sorento will mark a significant milestone for the brand as its first hybrid SUV in India, further expanding Kia’s premium SUV lineup.
The teaser reveals the SUV’s upright stance, muscular proportions, and modern design language. Up front, the Sorento features a distinctive two-tier LED lighting signature that complements its bold grille and sculpted bonnet, giving it a strong road presence. The SUV’s tall silhouette and pronounced shoulder line further enhance its premium appeal.

Powertrain details for the India-spec Sorento are yet to be officially confirmed, but the SUV is expected to be offered with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong-hybrid setup that combines a petrol engine with an electric motor for improved efficiency and performance. Select variants are also likely to feature an all-wheel-drive system. In addition, Kia is expected to introduce a diesel-powered version for buyers seeking long-distance touring capability.
The Sorento is one of Kia’s most successful global models. First introduced in 2002, the SUV has sold over 4.8 million units across 132 countries and is currently in its fourth generation. Over the years, it has consistently ranked among Kia’s best-selling vehicles worldwide while earning numerous safety, quality, and reliability accolades.
