The Mahindra Thar is, quite frankly, a phenomenon, a benchmark of what people expect of the ideal lifestyle car. Having received a major overhaul in 2020, the Thar has gone on to reach immense levels of success. The Indian car maker has now come out with a special edition, called the Thar Earth Edition. Available only in 4×4 guise, prices for the Thar Earth Edition range between Rs 15.40 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
So what does the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition get? For starters, there’s a new Satin Matte Desert Fury paint scheme, along with Earth Edition badging, desert-themed decals, ORVMs with Desert Fury inserts, and a body-coloured grille. On the inside, you get Satin Matte inserts, beige stitching for contrast, along with embossed dune headrests, dark chrome twin peaks logo on the steering, and dark chrome inserts on other elements.
Under the hood, things remain the same; the Thar Earth Edition is available with the same 2.0-litre diesel, and a 2.2-litre turbo-petrol powertrains, in both manual and automatic guise. And yes, it does come at a marginal price hike over the regular one. Would you buy it?
