The Mahindra XUV300… erm, the XUV 3XO now, is set to make its debut on April 29. As you’re aware, the compact SUV segment has seen plenty of updates happening lately, and there’s another one from Skoda on its way, hence Mahindra needs to keep the baby XUV ready for what lies ahead.
If you’ve been looking to buy the baby XUV but got put off by the interiors, you’ll want to check the XUV 3XO out. The XUV 3XO will get the heavily revamped interior from its electric sibling, the XUV400. The 10.25-inch touch screen and the new digital instrument cluster make their presence known, and the centre console has also been fully redesigned. The vertical A/C vents now give way to new horizontal ones placed below the new infotainment screen. The XUV 3XO will also be the first in its segment to receive a panoramic sunroof.
You will also be able to control things such as climate control, front and rear defoggers and more from your smartphone via the new AdrenoX app. The 7-speaker sound system will come courtesy of Harman Kardon.
Outside, the XUV 3XO is set to receive vertically-stacked headlamps with projectors, along with a new nose. The profile will remain recognizable, but there will be new alloy-wheels. Meanwhile, there will also be a new tailgate, and the XUV 3XO will also feature the connected tail-lamps design element, which appears very similar to what we’ve seen on the Renault Kiger.
Based on the teasers, the XUV 3XO will also be receiving different driving modes, similar to its big brother, the XUV700. Under the hood, the XUV 3XO is expected to retain its current set of powertrains; the 1.2-litre mStallion TGDi with 129 bhp and 25.49 kgm of torque, offered only with a 6-speed manual. The other 1.2-litre petrol puts out 108 bhp and 20.32 kgm of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or an AMT. The 1.5-litre diesel can also be had with either the manual or the AMT gearbox, and produces 115 bhp and 30.59 kgm of torque. Any guesses as to which of these will deliver the claimed fuel efficiency figure of 20.1 kpl?
