Maruti Suzuki has updated its best-selling MPV, the Ertiga, for 2025 with a significant safety upgrade — six airbags as standard across all variants. This move aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to enhancing occupant safety, following Chairman R.C. Bhargava’s announcement earlier this year that all passenger vehicles in its portfolio will offer six airbags by the end of 2025. With this update, the Ertiga joins models like the Baleno, Brezza, and Wagon R in offering this critical safety feature across the range.

With prices now ranging from ₹9.11 lakh to ₹13.40 lakh (ex-showroom), the Ertiga sees a marginal hike over the previous model. However, the added safety and new convenience features aim to justify the revised pricing.

The 2025 Maruti Ertiga continues with the same powertrain options as before. This includes the 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine producing 101 bhp, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It also retains the factory-fitted CNG variant with a power output of 89hp.

Fuel efficiency figures remain unchanged, with the petrol model delivering 20.51kpl for the manual and 20.30kpl for the automatic, while the CNG version continues to return an impressive 26.11km/kg.

On the outside, the only noticeable change is a new roof-mounted spoiler, which gives the Ertiga a sportier look. Otherwise, the MPV maintains its familiar design.

Inside, however, Maruti has made a few functional upgrades. The second-row roof-mounted blower has been replaced by new AC vents located behind the front passenger armrest. While this is a sleeker solution, only the driver can now operate the AC on/off switch, which is positioned on the right side of the dashboard.

The rear passengers now get twin Type-C charging ports for both the second and third rows, improving connectivity and usability during long journeys. Additionally, the middle seat in the second row now comes with an adjustable headrest, further enhancing passenger comfort and safety.

With its 2025 update, the Maruti Ertiga continues to strengthen its appeal as a practical and family-friendly MPV. By making six airbags standard and offering incremental interior improvements, Maruti has enhanced both safety and comfort without altering the core strengths that have made the Ertiga a market leader.
