The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara price starts from Rs 10.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be available in six trims, with mild- and strong-hybrid powertrains. Customers who choose the powerful hybrid models are eligible for a special introductory package — an extended warranty for five years or one lakh kilometres and official accessories worth more than Rs 67,000.
The SUV comes standard with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automated climate control, connected car technology, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and cruise control. However, features like heated front seats, a digital driver’s display, and a quality sound system are only available on the more expensive strong-hybrid models. It gets features like six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, hill hold assist and ISOFIX child seat mounts as far as safety goes. Again, tyre pressure monitoring and hill descent control are only available on the hybrid and all-wheel drive variants.
The Grand Vitara has two engine options. The first is the well-known 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine. It has a power output of 102 bhp and a torque output of 13.95 kgm. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on the all-wheel-drive model.
The 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol strong-hybrid engine produces 91 bhp and 12.44 kgm. The petrol engine is paired with an AC synchronous motor that delivers 79 bhp. At the wheels, the total combined output is 114 bhp and 14.37 kgm. This engine comes with a CVT transmission. You can read more about the Grand Vitara’s performance in Rivan’s story here.
