Maruti Suzuki has introduced a CNG variant of the Swift, making it the most fuel-efficient Swift to date, with a claimed fuel efficiency of 46 km/l. Here is what we know.
The new Swift S-CNG features the Z-series Dual VVT engine which delivers a maximum power of 69.75 BHP at 5700 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.4 kgm at 2900 rpm. The car comes equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Externally, the car maintains a design that has never changed and remains popular with Swift fans. In our review of the ICE Swift, we described it as ‘familiar’. It is a car you would feel instantly comfortable in, and that tradition seems to continue here with the CNG variant.
The interior design is also unchanged from the ICE variant of the Maruti Suzuki Swift. The car includes features such as automatic climate control, a rear AC vent, a wireless charger, 60:40 split rear seats, and a 7-inch ‘Smart Play Pro’ infotainment system with Suzuki Connect, their proprietary community features application.
The new Swift CNG is available in three variants: V, V(O), and Z. They are as below:
Variant | Price |
---|---|
VXi CNG | Rs. 8.19 lakh |
VXi (O)
CNG |
Rs. 8.46 lakh |
ZXi CNG | Rs. 9.19 lakh |
Will this traditional shift from ICE to CNG provide the same oomph that we know comes with a Swift? Well, stay tuned for our review of the Maruthi Suzuki Swift CNG.
