When it comes to big SUVs, nothing tops the Americans. Acura seems to feel the same with its new MDX flagship SUV, as well. Everything from the chassis, body, platform and interior is now completely different from the outgoing model. Acura will be disclosing more information on the MDX early next year.
There’s a larger and more commanding grille upfront, while the rear has been given a more elegant stance. To aid in the handling department, Acura has equipped the MDX with a double-wishbone suspension. It even gets bigger and better brakes, with a new brake booster for extra stopping power.
The 2022 MDX is powered by a 3.5-litre, V6 motor, which most Honda and Acura fans will know much about. It produces 286-bhp and 36.19-kgm of torque. This new model comes mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. There’s also the option of the 3.0-litre, turbocharged V6 which comes in the MDX Type S. This sportier version churns out 350-bhp and 48.92-kgm of torque.
