Tata Motors marked a significant milestone as its flagship SUV, the new Safari, and the premium SUV, the Harrier, received a 5-star rating in both adult and child occupant protection from the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat-NCAP).
Both the Safari and Harrier SUVs are built on the OMEGARC architecture derived from Land Rover’s D8 Platform which is also a 5-star Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP) rating.
The two cars also feature a seven-airbag system electronic stability control, a three-point seatbelt for all seats, Isofix tethers and a new enforced Cabin structure to secure any person who seats themselves in these vehicles.
Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari ji expressed his delight that Tata Motors’ Safari and Harrier were the inaugural recipients of the 5-star rating, emphasizing the vehicles’ adherence to global safety standards.
Mr Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, highlighted providing customers safety and commitment to vehicle safety.
