Lamborghini has unveiled its highly anticipated Temerario (meaning ‘daring’), the successor to the Huracán, in Delhi. Introduced globally at Monterey Car Week in August 2024, the Temerario arrives as the latest evolution in Lamborghini’s storied supercar lineage, following the Gallardo and Huracán, which debuted in 2003 and 2014 respectively. It’s the first Lamborghini with a turbocharged engine, and the first mid-engined Lambo since the Jalpa.
The Temerario breaks new ground with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, aligning with Lamborghini’s High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) initiative. Its 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine is capable of reaching a staggering 10,000 rpm — the highest-revving V8 in a production car — and teams up with three electric motors and a 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. This combination delivers 907 bhp and 81.5 kgm of torque, blasting the new bull from 0-100 kph in a scant 2.7 seconds, and going on to a top speed of 343 kph. Its battery supports 30-minute charging with a 7 kW AC charger or regenerative braking; you get 13 drive modes, including a Drift Mode.
Visually, the Temerario refines the Huracán’s iconic wedge silhouette with much sharper lines, slim LED headlights, and hexagonal LED daytime running lights. A new aluminum spaceframe increases torsional rigidity by 20 per cent, while the optional Alleggerita package reduces its 1715 kg dry weight by 25 kg, using carbon-fibre components. The jet-fighter interior, inspired by the Revuelto, has a 12.3-inch driver display, an 8.4-inch central touchscreen, and a 9.1-inch passenger screen, blending cutting-edge technology with luxury.
Priced at ₹6 crore (ex-showroom), the Temerario will compete with the Ferrari 296 GTB and McLaren 750S in India’s supercar segment.
