Volkswagen India launches the Tiguan R-Line at an introductory price of Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Offered as a completely built unit (CBU), Volkswagen has already commenced bookings for the SUV, with test drives commencing today onwards. Moreover, the automaker has also stated that deliveries will begin on 23rd April 2025 onwards. Interestingly, at the launch, VW is also offering four years of the standard warranty, four years of roadside assistance and three years of free services at the above-mentioned price.
Being the sportier version of the Tiguan, the R-Line features distinctive design features, such as a more prominent radiator grille, exclusive R badges, sportier bumpers, and larger 19-inch alloy wheels featuring unique designs. Furthermore, it sports LED headlights with a full-length DRL at the front, enhancing its appearance. Additional exterior highlights include illuminated door handle recesses, a glowing trim linking the headlamps, and silver-anodized roof rails. Another unique aspect of the Tiguan R-Line is its availability in six different colour options, allowing buyers to choose a hue that best matches their style. Options include the striking Persimmon Red Metallic and Cipressino Green Metallic, among others.
Inside the cabin, the Tiguan R-Line comes with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s instrument cluster, a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, revamped AC vents, a heads-up display (HUD), drive selector switch, eight-speaker audio system, Level 2 ADAS, and wireless phone charging. Also unique to the R-Line are the distinctive R-Line accents on the front sport comfort seats and an illuminated ‘R’ emblem on the dashboard. The seats also offer massage functionality and adjustable lumbar support for enhanced comfort.
Powering the Tiguan R-Line is a 2.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engine that produces 201 bhp and 32.48 kgm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox, sending power to all four wheels via Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
