Nissan has rolled out a new Kuro Edition for the Magnite, priced at ₹8.30 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s based on the N-Connecta trim and can be specced with any of the four engine–gearbox combinations offered in the Magnite range. Bookings are open, and Nissan is asking for ₹11,000 to reserve one.

True to its name, the Kuro Edition gets the full blackout treatment. The paint shade called Onyx Black is exclusive to this version, and it’s paired with black alloy wheels and subtle silver detailing. Step inside and the theme continues: black roof lining, black dashboard, black steering wheel, and a black centre console.

Equipment is carried over from the N-Connecta variant, so you still get the dual digital screens, Arkamys-tuned audio, auto-dimming IRVM, i-Key with auto unlock, illuminated glovebox, and climate control with rear AC vents.

Under the hood, nothing changes. Buyers can choose between the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 71 bhp, 9.7 kgm with a 5-speed manual or AMT — which can also run on CNG — or the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol making 98 bhp and 16.3 kgm with MT, 15.5 kgm with CVT. Claimed fuel efficiency depends on the engine–gearbox pairing.

Nissan Motor India’s MD, Saurabh Vatsa, says the new Kuro Edition was designed in response to customer demand for a more distinctive, premium-looking Magnite. The all-black aesthetic proved popular when offered previously, and this version is meant to build on that success. He also pointed to the Magnite’s recent 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, calling it a milestone for the brand and part of Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy. Alongside the Kuro, a new Metallic Grey paint option is also joining the Magnite line-up.

The 5-star score applies to both India and South Africa and is based on tests conducted on the updated Magnite, launched in October 2024. Built on the CMF-A+ platform, it features over 40 standard safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, hill-start assist, brake assist, and TPMS.
