The Bahrain International Circuit saw an eight-hour finale filled with drama as Porsche secured the drivers’ title and took second in the constructors’ championship.

Porsche Penske Motorsport’s No. 6 Porsche 963 faced early struggles, yet drivers Kévin Estre, André Lotterer, and Laurens Vanthoor mounted an impressive recovery. Despite penalties that pulled them back from a podium finish, they ended the race in 11th, clinching the drivers’ world championship..

Lotterer, Estre, and Vanthoor completed the season at the top of the drivers’ standings with 150 points.

Porsche finished the year second in the manufacturers’ standings with 184 points, just short of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s 190.

Porsche drivers Matt Campbell, Michael Christensen, and Frédéric Makowiecki took third place, despite late safety car interventions that dashed their hopes of victory.

The Porsche 963 returns to Bahrain on Sunday for testing, with factory driver Mathieu Jaminet taking part in the FIA WEC rookie test and Michelin conducting tyre tests.
