On Renault’s 10th anniversary, it has updated the Renault Kwid with a few important features. Now, the Kwid gets dual airbags along with pre-tensioners for the driver side as standard. Also, the Kwid Climber edition will be available in a new dual-tone paint scheme option, electric ORVMs and a day and night IRVM. The Kwid starts from Rs 4.06 lakh, ex-showroom, and Renault’s throwing in some benefits with the purchase as well.
For prospective buyers, these benefits will amount up to Rs 80,000 on select variants and Rs 1.10 lakh for loyalty benefits. Moreover, from 1st of September to 10th, there will be offers for customers in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa to celebrate the upcoming Ganesh Chathurthi festival.
Since this is just a cosmetic update, the powertrain options still remain the same. The Kwid is offered in two powertrains, a 799cc petrol engine which produces 53 bhp and 7.34 kgm of torque and a 999cc petrol engine churning 68 bhp and 9.27 kgm of torque. Only the latter comes with a choice of either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT ‘box.
