The Skoda Slavia stays true to its Czech brand’s styling and has crisp, neat lines on it. Skoda’s offering this metallic Crystal Blue shade along with four other colour options. Oh, and the Slavia will be available in three trims: Active, Ambition and Style. By the way, we’ve already driven the camouflaged version, click here to read Kartik’s first drive impression.
Inside, there’s a lot of goodies on offer like the large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre, a fully-digital 8-inch digital instrument cluster, much needed ventilated front seats, wireless charging, sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring system, up to six airbags, traction control and ESP among other things. That’s a pretty exhaustive list, don’t you think? But, that’s not all! It has an enormous boot capacity of 521 litres, which is bigger than most midsize SUVs in the market.
As for powertrain options, the Slavia gets a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI motor that makes 113 bhp, and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI with 148 bhp. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual, and the smaller engine gets an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the 1.5-litre can be specced with a 7-speed DSG. For once, it’d be lovely to see a fast, affordable sedan with a manual ‘box. If we’re lucky, there could be an RS variant in the future, too. Hey, there’s no harm in hoping, is there?
Well, if you like what you see in these pictures then you can book one for Rs 11,000; deliveries shall begin next year. Skoda definitely is putting a strong statement with the Slavia, but all boils down to its pricing.
