Before Kia finally takes the wraps off its new Sonet on the 7th of August, here are the design sketches of the production model.
The Sketches reveal the muscular outlines of the new car, which will be based on the Hyundai Venue’s platform. The main highlight here is the interior which features Kia’s first-in-segment 10.25-inch HD touchscreen and navigation system with UVO connected features. A digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, drive and traction modes are included as well. The shifter seems to have been borrowed from the Seltos.
Finer details like the knurled pattern around the vertical air vents and the gearbox does add to its appeal. On the A-pillar, you will notice the tweeter neatly tucked away and we think the Sonet will most likely feature a Bose audio system.
We also happen to notice a ‘Drive Video Recordings’ icon on the huge infotainment screen. Will there be a dashcam built into the Sonet? Is that another Sonet’s first-in-class segment feature? We’re sure you have many questions as well, but you’ll have to wait until the 7th of August for all the details.
