The Tata Nexon was among the first cars to be tested by the GNCAP as part of its #SaferCarsForIndia initiative, scoring five stars back in 2018. Having received a major upgrade in 2023, the Nexon has once again received a five-star rating, with the second-highest score in terms of adult and child occupant safety.
The Global NCAP’s crash test protocols assessed frontal, side impact protection, electronic stability control, pedestrian protection and side pole impact protection. The Global NCAP stated that the Nexon‘s stable structure and robust restraint system offer good protection and almost full protection for a child in the car.
The new Tata Nexon continues with the same set of powertrains; a 1.2-litre petrol with 118 Bhp and 17 kgm of torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel packing with 113 Bhp and 26 kgm of torque. Both powertrains receive 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options, and the range-topping petrol variant also receives a new 7-speed DCT as well.
