Tata Motors has announced that the new top-spec version of its hatchback, the Tata Tiago XZ+, will be available from December 12. Launched at Rs 5.57 lakh onwards, the new trim will be offered on both petrol and diesel versions of the car.
So what’s new, you must ask. The Tata Tiago XZ+ gets an optional dual-tone paint (essentially glossy black treatment for the roof and spoiler), chrome accent on the tailgate, body side moulding, and new 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels (on the petrol version only). The projector headlamps get a smoked black bezel, whereas on the inside the car gets a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman with Android Auto connectivity. The automatic AC also gets digital controls.
Engine options remain unchanged for the Tiago XZ+: a 1.2-litre petrol unit and a 1.05-litre diesel engine. This top-spec trim will only be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, though. Also, Tata has limited its availability in two new colours only: Canyon Orange and Ocean Blue.
Tata Motors’s Vice President for Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support (Passenger Vehicle Business Unit), SN Barman said, “Since its launch in 2016, the TIAGO – our first product to be launched under the IMPACT design language; stood out as an attractive, innovative and feature loaded car. It has been the most awarded car of the year with over 18 awards in 2017. With its continued demand amongst our customer base, we are today proud to announce the introduction of the new top of line variant in its range – the Tiago XZ+. Offering features and styling from a segment above, we are confident that the XZ+ will be much loved by our customers and will further help us expand our market share and support in our journey to ‘win sustainably’ in the PV business.”
