BMW’s M lineup in India sees yet another addition, and this time (thankfully) it’s not an EV! The folks from Bavaria decided to go a little berserk and gave us the (slightly) madder M4 Competition M xDrive. It gets more power than the M4 Competition Coupe, superior hardware, and slight design tweaks. All that for a difference of *just* Rs 5.5 lakh.  (*coughs*)

Powering the BMW M4 Competition M xDrive lies the 3.0-litre twin-turbo, inline six-cylinder powertrain, which generates a maximum power output of 522 bhp and peak torque of 66 kgm. The name of the car also makes it obvious it gets all-wheel drive, by the way.

The twin-turbo powertrain is paired to an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, and if you’re wondering about triple digits, that takes just 3.5 seconds. The vehicle also comes with an upgradable suspension package as an add-on.

There is some focus here on weight reduction, with the M4 Competition M xDrive featuring a carbon fibre roof, which also helps in lowering the centre of gravity for better handling. There is also a range of lightweight alloy rims to choose from, including dual-spoke type 825 M Silver M Forged alloy rims. Gloss blue brake callipers with M lettering come as standard, while red gloss ones are available optionally. And yes, those tail lights are inspired from the CSL.

The interior holds a new three-spoke M leather steering wheel with carbon fibre accents, the BMW Curved Display setup, and standard M sports seats with electrical adjustment. You also get a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a 360-degree camera, head and side airbags, traction control, ABS, steering and lane control assist, and the BMW drive recorder among other things.

Priced at Rs 1.53 crore (ex-showroom), the BMW M4 Competition M xDrive is available in a variety of metallic paintworks, including Skyscraper Grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, Sao Paulo Yellow, Toronto Red, Brooklyn Grey, Isle of Man Green, Aventurine Red, and Alpine White in non-metallic.

Optional BMW Individual metallic paint finishes such as Tanzanite Blue and Dravit Grey are also available. Interior upholstery options include M Leather ‘Merino’ in combinations like Yas Marina Blue, Kyatami Orange, Silverstone, and Black.
