The Carens has been quite a hot-seller for Kia India, and why wouldn’t it be? It’s hugely practical, it offers you a heavy equipment list, and not to mention it’s quite easy to drive as well for its size. So what’s new in the 2024 Kia Carens then? For starters, there is a new Prestige (O) variant which can be had from Rs 12.11 lakh onwards. Those looking to buy the diesel variant can now rejoice, as it now gets the option of a 6-speed manual transmission as well, and it can be yours starting from Rs 12.66 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
If you’re thinking of buying the Carens X-Line, there’s good news for you as well; it now gets kit such as voice commands function for the power windows, along with a dashcam and seven-seater options. Meanwhile the new Prestige + (O) variant receives a powered sunroof, along with LED DRLs. The Prestige (O) variant comes with push-button start, connected LED tail lights, a leatherette-wrapped gear knob and the option to choose between six-seater and seven-seater configurations.
Things such as an eight-speaker sound system, keyless entry, steering-wheel mounted buttons, a shark-fin antenna and an anti-theft alarm among other things can now be had in the base Premium (O) variant itself. A 180W charging socket replaces the 120W unit across all variants as well. In terms of paint schemes, there is one new addition — Pewter Olive, which can be had across the lineup except in the X-Line trim.
Would you pick the Kia Carens over the Maruti Suzuki XL6?
