The Macan is among Porsche’s bestsellers globally, and the carmaker has prepared it for the future with an all-electric version. Interestingly, the Macan will continue to feature both ICE and EV powertrains until 2025. While the German car maker has listed both the base Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo variants, prices for only the Turbo variant have been listed so far. Although the Macan EV shares its platform with the Audi Q6 e-tron, here in India, it can be pitted against the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, BMW iX, and Audi’s Q8 e-tron as well.
Sitting on the PPE platform, the Macan Turbo gets all-wheel drive, producing a combined output of 630 bhp and 115 kgm of torque, reaching triple digits in just 3.3 seconds. Top speed you ask? 220 kmph and 260 kmph for the base Macan 4 and the Turbo respectively. The 95 kWh battery pack gives it a claimed range of 591 km, while the Macan 4 does slightly better with 613 km of claimed range. A 270 kW DC fast charger takes 21 minutes for a full charge. However, charging times for the home setup remain unspecified for now.
The car maker has also made use of its active suspension management system with two-valve damper technology, air suspension, rear-axle transverse lock and, for the first time, rear-axle steering with a steering angle of up to five degrees.
The interiors are similar to the ones in the Cayenne and the Panamera, with a 10.9-inch touch screen, a 12.6-inch instrument cluster, and a separate passenger display which will not be visible to the driver when the car is in motion.
