The latest of the SPA-based (Scalable Product Architecture; the same platform which underpins the XC90 and S90) vehicle will be launched in India on December 12. It’s the new XC60 (should you be reminded) and as Raunak’s first drive report points out, is an SUV worth your time and money.
Feature-packed, like the other recent Volvos, the XC60 will be available in the top-spec Inscription trim only. Which means you get adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera, hill assist, HUD, a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins speaker system, a 12.3-inch Sensus touchscreen infotainment system, etc.
All-wheel drive is standard on the XC60 D5 that’s coming to India. And so are the headline figures of 232 bhp and 48.9 kgm, and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 1969 cc, four-cylinder diesel engine is, like the platform, shared with the other 90-series cars in the range.
And of course, it gets the Thor’s Hammer headlamps, too, if you were wondering. In case you’ve missed our First Drive report, you can read that by clicking here.
The prices and availability will be announced on December 12.
