Every September, when the rains finally ease up, the Thrissur Off-Roaders Club hosts their annual 4×4 SUV Trails, turning the terrain into a glorious playground of mud. This year, our Jimny Owners Club (JOKO) decided to roll in heavy — not with just one, two, or even three SUVs — but a fleet of nine Jimnys, ready to tackle the trail.
The atmosphere was perfect — clear skies, a pleasant breeze, and a carefully designed track lined with seven challenging obstacles, all wrapped in a thick layer of glorious muck. We were expecting a fun showdown, but what really caught us off guard was the sheer number of Jimnys participating. A jaw-dropping 27 of them showed up, with owners hailing from as far as Tamil Nadu and Goa. It was a sight to behold, a battalion of compact off-roaders raring to hit the mud.
As the day unfolded, we watched all these mighty 4x4s compete, and we couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride. Among all the chaos and camaraderie, Chetan from our club took home the top honours, clocking the fastest time in the Jimny and Gypsy category — without a single penalty! JOKO’s achievements shone bright, and we left with our heads held high.
