The Audi Q7 carried a strong legacy in India and was the torchbearer for luxury SUVs, or SUVs in general, in the country. But as the years have gone by, it has tapered away, with its competition gaining an edge over it. Why is this the case? These are exactly the answers I wish to find with my short stint with the Audi Q7.

I’m already starting to see where it lacks compared to the competition. However, as I spend time with it, I understand more about what made the Q7 so popular in the first place. Frankly, the biggest draw was its 3.0-litre V6 petrol motor, which produces 335 bhp and 50.98 kgm; it sounds interesting on paper, although since it has just arrived, the only experience I have with that motor is from when I parked the Q7.

I am definitely looking forward to changing that, and as the onslaught of the monsoon begins in Mumbai, it gives me the perfect excuse to go on a road trip to the furthest point from my house to grab a nice cup of tea. Perhaps that drive might bring some perspective to what the Q7 was, and mainly, just give me an opportunity to hit the road.
