The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 continues to reign supreme as the range king in India’s electric vehicle (EV) market, outclassing every other EV on sale. During our time with the EQS, it proved to be a long-distance champion, effortlessly completing the Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai run on a single charge. The journey was effortless and incredibly comfortable, showcasing the EQS’s strong luxury roots.
We also took the EQS on a short trip to Goa to meet our boss, and while the car’s massive size posed a slight challenge on Goa’s narrow streets, it easily handled the journey. The EQS made it to Goa on a single charge, further solidifying its credentials as a long-distance EV. The only hiccup we faced was the ground clearance over some unusually pesky high speed breakers, but we managed to navigate them with careful acrobatics and side-angle approaches over them.
Inside, the EQS feels like a desktop computer on wheels, thanks to its stunning Hyperscreen. The in-built internet browser allows you to stay productive or entertained while charging. Rear passengers are treated to an IMAX-like theatre experience with multiple screens and the exceptional Burmeister audio system, enhanced by an Amazon Fire Stick.
