Mahindra & Mahindra has expanded its light commercial vehicle portfolio with the launch of the new Veero 1.1 XXL CNG and an upgraded Veero Diesel. The latest additions are aimed at strengthening the Veero’s appeal across intra-city logistics and long-distance commercial applications in the LCV below 3.5-tonne segment.
First introduced in September 2024, the Veero marked the debut of Mahindra’s Urban Prosper Platform (UPP), a ground-up, multi-energy modular platform developed for commercial vehicles. The range has since focused on combining fuel efficiency, payload capability, safety and technology.
The new Veero 1.1 XXL CNG is designed primarily for intra-city operations. It offers a 1.1-tonne payload and gets a 2,900mm (9.5-foot) cargo deck, providing additional loading volume while retaining a compact footprint. A 5.1m turning radius is claimed to improve manoeuvrability in congested urban environments.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 65 bhp and 98Nm. The CNG model delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 21.4km/kg, while its combined petrol and CNG driving range is claimed to exceed 450km.
Mahindra is positioning the Veero 1.1 XXL CNG for applications including FMCG distribution, e-commerce deliveries, fruit and vegetable transportation, parcel and courier movement, and other intra-city logistics requirements.
The Veero Diesel, meanwhile, receives a range of technology and convenience upgrades. It now features a 26.03cm touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with voice commands supporting multiple languages. Cruise control has also been added to improve comfort during longer journeys.
The diesel model additionally gets LNT technology, while comfort features include air conditioning with a heater, a reclining driver’s seat with adjustable headrest, flat-fold seats, door armrests and D+2 seating.
Mahindra has also expanded the vehicle’s connected features through its iMAXX platform. Remote AC control joins more than 50 connected functions, including vehicle tracking, geofencing, route planning, vehicle health monitoring and fuel tracking. Power windows and fast-charging ports are now standard across all variants.
With these updates, Mahindra aims to broaden the Veero’s operating range while adding greater technology, comfort and practicality for commercial users.
