Say, you’re looking to buy a cruiser motorcycle — an actual cruiser with the low-seat height, forward-set footpegs, and a handlebar that you have to slightly reach out for. However, you’ve had to settle for modern-looking retro cruisers so far. Royal Enfield has decided to grant your wishes with a new variant of the Meteor 350. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Aurora is essentially the regular Meteor in even more retro clothing, slotting in between the mid-spec Stellar and top-end Supernova variant, priced at Rs 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
How’s the Aurora any different you ask? For starters, you get three new paint schemes on offer, such as a monotone black, tri-tone green, and tri-tone blue, the latter two getting very strongly retro-inspired shades. Complementing the retro paint schemes are spoke rims shod on tube-type tyres, along with chrome-finished mechanical parts, most noticeably the engine and the exhaust. Additionally, the Meteor 350 Aurora also receives a deluxe touring seat, tripper navigation pod as standard, an LED headlamp, and aluminium switch cubes.
The rest has not been tinkered with, meaning that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Aurora continues to receive the same J-series underpinnings, the 349 cc air-cooled, long-stroke engine, with 20.2 bhp and 2.75 kgm of torque, mated to a five-speed transmission.
Royal Enfield has also updated the other variants in the Meteor 350 lineup, with the base Fireball variant now receiving the black paint scheme as standard, as opposed to earlier when it was priced at a slight premium. The Stellar variant now receives the tripper navigation pod as standard, while the range-topping Supernova benefits with an LED headlamp and aluminium switch cubes.
