Due to the ongoing pandemic, it had become difficult for people to renew the validity of their motor vehicle documents and some people who’ve applied after 1st February 2020 still haven’t received their renewed documents.
With the government offices being inoperational during the lockdown, The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways have been kind enough to acknowledge this problem and thus extended the validity of all motor vehicle documents till 30th September 2020. This applies to documents like your insurance certificates, PUC certificate and driver’s license and car registrations. You can renew them without paying an additional penalty until 30th September. However, other motoring infractions not relating to the vehicle documents still carry a penalty, so drive safe!
