With an aim to spread awareness on safer riding techniques across India, Triumph Motorcycles has for the very first time flagged off a safety ride. The event was flagged off by Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India from Jammu — starting point of the trip, which will end in Kanyakumari. The British bike-maker has conducted several workshops that involve two-wheeler-related road safety, spreading awareness through screening of educational films and with theory workshops. In addition, Triumph has also organised in the past tailor-made customer rides across all its dealerships in India to spread the message. For this safety ride, Varad More, a noted motorcyclist and a good friend of Motoring World, is undertaking this journey on behalf of Triumph. Varad will visit each Triumph dealership during his trip where he will interact with Triumph clubs/owners and impart road safety essentials.

The company says it has always encouraged passionate riders and provided the necessary support to nurture the riding culture in India. Road safety awareness can be vastly improved with initiatives like these, and furthermore by working constructively on factors such as vehicle fitness, road infrastructure, traffic engineering, training and road etiquette. The list also includes other factors such as law enforcement, awareness and the laws governing the road system and lastly safety embedded into these.
