Here’s the all-new Audi Q5 ready for another stint in the Indian market. It’s launched in India with two trims on offer: Premium Plus and Technology. This time, the Q5 will only be available in the petrol guise. The price for the Q5 starts from Rs 58.93 lakh for the entry-level Premium Plus trim, while the Technology trim is priced at Rs 63.77 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, India). Now, the Q5’s exteriors have been redesigned. Its front now features a single-frame grille with an octagon outline. Plus, there’s chrome garnish on the grille and the slats, the foglamp casing, the skid plates and the aluminium roof rails. But, it’s the twin-five-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels that give the Q5 a sporty stance. Also, you can opt for five colour options, which include Navarra Blue, Mythos Black, Floret Silver, Manhattan Gray and Ibis White.
Inside, in all typical Audi fashion, you’ll find a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display along with a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a B&O 3D sound system with 19 speakers, wireless mobile charging pad, three-zone climate control, 30-colour ambient lighting, piano black trim for its interiors and has as many as eight airbags on offer. Oh, and it does get a panoramic sunroof as well.
Powering the Q5 is a 247-bhp 2.0-litre TFSI engine that produces 37.72 kgm of torque paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch auto ‘box and has quattro all-wheel drive. The petrol engine isn’t a slouch, it darts from 0-100 kph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 237 kph. Also, it does feature drive modes and adaptive suspension.
In terms of its rivals, the Q5 takes on the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the recently launched Volvo XC60.
