In a bid to expand its product range, as well as reach a larger audience base, CEAT Tyres has launched two new tyres which fall under its Steelrad platform. The Crossrad and Sportrrad tyre series have been launched, with prices starting from Rs 4,300 and Rs 12,500 respectively for a set of tyres.
CEAT says that the Sportrad tyres get equidistant midcrown grooves for enhanced cornering stability, and a silica-blended tread compound for a perfect balance of stiffness. CEAT has also incorporated slick shoulders for extreme lean angles, an optimized groove design for superior wet grip and cornering stability, and a maximized slick area at the crown for stability at speeds up to 270 kmph. These tyres are compatible with high-performance motorcycles such as the KTM RC 390, 390 Duke, TVS Apache RR 310, and the Bajaj Dominar.
The Crossrad tyres feature an asymmetrical block tread design and transversal grooves placed along the circumference of the tyre. This combination is said to provide superior grip in gravel/mud and other off-road terrains. CEAT also says that the interconnected shoulder blocks offer a wider contact area for an enhanced cornering grip. While CEAT claims these tyres provide better handling in off-road conditions, they are compatible with the likes of the Yamaha FZ and the Suzuki Gixxer.
CEAT has also announced Geoffrey Emmanuel as its brand ambassador. He is the first Indian rider to compete in the FIM Junior World Championship riding in Moto3, and is working towards participating in the MotoGP World Championship, starting with the Bharat GP in September 2024.
