With just a week before one of the most prestigious motor shows — EICMA kicks off, Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will be unveiling four two-wheelers, including a new addition to the Vida EV family.
The Indian two-wheeler giant had previously put up a teaser of a new motorcycle that shares its front-end, like the headlight and the visor with the XPulse 200 4V. This is possibly a bigger version of Hero’s ADV with the 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine borrowed from the Karizma. Or is the XPulse 400 still on the cards?
The next interesting unveil is likely to be the production version of the Hero 2.5R Xtunt concept bike showcased earlier. A patent drawing has surfaced on the internet, and by the looks of it, this bike fits the design of Hero’s Xtreme streetfighter duo. With the Karizma’s engine making 25 bhp, this engine could push out 30 bhp, putting it in the league of the KTM 250 Duke.
Another product that Hero might showcase is a bigger Karizma, although it could be a concept. Hero has had a tradition of introducing a wild concept every year and this year it could be the Karizma. The last time Hero showcased a quarter-litre supersport was the HX250R a decade ago.
Hero’s fourth product is a mystery, but this could be a new product in the Vida family. Hopefully, Vida doesn’t take the ‘family-oriented’ scooter approach and comes out with a production-focused EV. With Hero’s alliance with American EV manufacturer Zero, this should be too difficult, should it?
