BSA Motorcycles has unveiled its new B65 Scrambler that is based on the Gold Star 650. This is two years after the company showcased the concept version of the bike. And just like we hoped for, the debut of this bike is just weeks after Royal Enfield introduced its Interceptor-based Bear 650.
The BSA B65 flaunts a 19-inch front wheel instead of the 18-inch unit from the Gold Star and swaps the Pirelli SportComp tyres with Pirelli Scorpion STRs to suit its intended purpose. While there’s no word yet on whether the suspension has more wheel travel than the Gold Star, we expect a softer setup for the scrambler.
Other obvious changes include a high-mounted front fender, a stubby rear fender, a different exhaust and a new seat. The seat looks similar to the Yezdi Scrambler’s with the slightly raised rear end.
On the styling front, the bike features new paint schemes, blacked-out components and different side panels with a race plate. Interestingly, BSA has opted to use bar-end mirrors on this scrambler.
BSA is unlikely to fiddle with the 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, however, going by this picture, the B65 appears to have a bigger rear sprocket for better acceleration.
The BSA Gold Star 650 took a couple of years to come to India after its global debut, but with the brand now established in India, we hope that we won’t have to wait for long before the B65 arrives on our shores.
