The Piaggio Group will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vespa with what it calls the largest gathering in the scooter’s history. Scheduled from June 25 to 28, 2026, Vespa Roma 2026 – 80 Years of an Icon will take place in Rome, with the city serving as both host and sponsor of the event.

The celebrations will be centred around the Foro Italico and the Stadio dei Marmi, which will be transformed into a dedicated Vespa Village. Thousands of Vespa owners and enthusiasts from around the world are expected to attend, with Vespa Clubs from 60 countries confirming participation.

The four-day festival will feature exhibitions, live entertainment, competitions and parades. Highlights include the unveiling of a commemorative coin issued by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, a special postal cancellation ceremony, and an exhibition tracing Vespa’s evolution and cultural impact over eight decades.

A major attraction will be the Grand Parade on June 27, when thousands of Vespas spanning multiple generations will ride through Rome’s historic streets. The event will conclude with an Elegance Contest showcasing some of the rarest and most significant Vespa models ever produced.

Introduced in 1946, the Vespa has become one of the most recognisable two-wheeler brands in the world. According to Piaggio, the company is approaching a milestone of 20 million Vespa scooters produced globally, while more than two million units have been built over the last decade alone.

The anniversary celebrations will also showcase the brand’s current range, lifestyle products and future plans, underscoring Vespa’s enduring role as a symbol of Italian design, mobility and culture.
