Range Rover Electric bookings are now open in India, marking a new chapter for the luxury SUV brand as it introduces its first-ever fully electric Range Rover. Built at Solihull in the UK, the Range Rover Electric combines the brand’s signature luxury and all-terrain capability with near-silent electric performance.
Powered by two 260kW electric motors, the Range Rover Electric delivers up to 550 bhp of power and 86.67 kgm of torque. The electric SUV is claimed to offer up to 600km of WLTP range, while its near-silent power delivery is designed to further elevate the refinement expected from a Range Rover.

Despite its electric powertrain, the new model remains focused on the off-road capability that has defined the Range Rover name. Its advanced traction management system can respond in as little as 50 milliseconds, helping maintain grip across challenging surfaces. The SUV can also wade through up to 900mm of water, while single-pedal driving allows it to tackle slopes of up to 45 degrees.
The Range Rover Electric is equipped with a 118.5kWh battery featuring 800-volt technology and split charging. Using a suitable DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in around 22 minutes**. Land Rover also claims that 10 minutes of charging can add up to 220km of WLTP range.
In keeping with the brand’s philosophy of being a Range Rover first and an electric vehicle second, the new model retains the familiar Range Rover design language. Aerodynamically optimised wheels and a specially developed underbody help improve efficiency without compromising its unmistakable silhouette. A lower centre of gravity and twin-chamber air suspension are also claimed to improve its road manners.
The development program has been extensive, with the Range Rover Electric completing testing equivalent to 38 trips around the world, alongside more than 250,000 hours of virtual testing. The model is expected to become the most patented Range Rover yet, with around 300 patent applications filed.
The electric SUV also introduces ThermAssist heat management technology, while its battery and motors are designed by Range Rover and manufactured at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in the UK.
For India, the First Edition will be offered with a curated specification and three exterior colours, Belgravia Green, Santorini Black and Varesine Blue. The cabin features newly introduced Light Cloud Ultrafabrics and Kvadrat materials.
With bookings now open in India, the Range Rover Electric brings zero-emission propulsion to one of the world’s most recognisable luxury SUVs without abandoning its core promise of refinement, capability and distinctive design.
