As if the Aprilia SR150 wasn’t cool enough, the Italian manufacturer has launched a new SR150 Race scooter in the Indian market. It’s based on the SR150 but comes with ‘specially designed accessories’ to stand further apart from the other offerings in the segment.
It mimics the Aprilia RS-GP by using a similar livery (with special Maze Grey colour), red 14-inch alloy wheels, and a retuned suspension. The engine remains unchanged, at 150 cc, but gets an acceleration enhancement kit. The brakes continue to be 220 mm disc up front and a 140 mm drum at the rear. Golden brake caliper and a Race-boom exhaust round up the changes on SR150 Race.
Like the regular SR150 this one too is made in India, and will be manufactured at Piaggio’s facility in Baramati. That, along with the localization, ensures the SR150 – even in the special ‘RACE’ version – makes a good value for money proposition, at Rs 70,288, ex-showroom, Mumbai.
