Audi unveiled the R8 Coupe V10 GT RWD as the final car to carry the R8 moniker, 16 years after it was introduced. This last petrol-only powered R8 will be limited to just 333 units, marking the end of R8’s production run. The R8 Coupe V10 GT RWD is now the most powerful RWD Audi ever produced.
The naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 under the hood makes 602 bhp and 57.6 kgm of torque. This results in a zero to 100 kph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. It can further reach 200 kph in just 10.1 seconds and has a limited top speed of 320 kph. This engine is mated to a seven-speed DCT with faster shift times, altered gear ratios, and Audi’s Torque Rear mode with controlled oversteer of varying levels.
It sees a total of 20 kg being shaved off, with the help of new 20-inch lightweight forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres. This along with bucket seats and CFRP anti-roll bar and ceramic brakes also come as standard. The intake manifold gets an all-black treatment and there are blacked-out ‘R8 GT’ badges all around with special Carbon Aerokit in high gloss.
On the inside, it mirrors the original 2010 R8 GT with a combination of a black and red treatment with red seatbelts and highlights. Customers also get a plaque with the sequential numbering of their R8 GT in the middle of the centre console. Each of the 333 units is priced at approximately Rs 1.8 crore and will be on sale next year.
