Land Rover has pulled the covers off its most menacing Range Rover yet—the SV Black Edition—set to debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed alongside its sibling, the Range Rover Sport SV Black. This ultra-luxurious variant combines stealthy aesthetics with thunderous performance, cementing its position as the brand’s new flagship.

Under the hood lies a 4.4- litre twin-turbo BMW M-derived V8, churning out 606 bhp—making it the most powerful Range Rover SV to date. Paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, the SUV rockets from 0-100kph in 4.4 seconds and tops out at 260kph. The ‘SV’ badge ensures this isn’t just about speed; it’s about delivering a plush, high-performance experience tailored for discerning buyers.

True to its name, the SV Black Edition embraces a monochromatic theme, available only in Narvik Gloss Black. Every exterior detail—from the 23-inch gloss-black alloys to the blacked-out grille, brake calipers (with subtle branding), and even the Range Rover script—reinforces its sinister appeal. The absence of chrome amplifies its stealthy presence, making it a head-turner without shouting for attention.

Inside, the dark theme continues with ebony leather upholstery, accented by black ‘Range Rover’ embroidery and unique diagonal stitching on the seats. Premium touches include black birch wood veneers, a satin-black ceramic gearshift, and muted metallic finishes. The result? A cabin that exudes sophistication without sacrificing the SV’s sporty DNA.

While pricing remains under wraps, the SV Black is expected to command a significant premium over standard SV models. Its debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed hints at Land Rover’s confidence in its performance pedigree. Whether it’s the BMW-sourced V8 roar or the head-turning gloss-black finish, this SUV is designed to dominate both city streets and autobahns.
